Putting it simply, kinesiology is the science of human movement, exercise and function. Kinesiologists are regulated health professionals with expert knowledge of human movement and the relationship between physical activity and health. The practice of Kinesiology involves the assessment of human movement and performance that is used to prevent, manage, rehabilitate, maintain, or enhance movement and performance.
As a Registered Kinesiologist, Desirée is a regulated health care professional (regulated by the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario) who specializes in human movement and performance. She is an expert in understanding how and why people move the way they do. Desirée will use an evidence-based active treatment model to correct body mechanics and restore mobility to injured areas, to improve function for your everyday life.
Using movement and exercise as the tools to help manage, prevent, heal, and recover from injuries and chronic disease, Desirée is committed to enhancing your quality of life. As of April 1, 2013 Kinesiologists became licensed to practice as regulated health professionals by the Province of Ontario. The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario is the body responsible for the licensing of individual Kinesiologists in the province.
